Experience

Starting in 1998 after graduating with my English degree, I took a TEFL course which changed my life, as I was able to teach English to all ages and abilities.

I worked in Greece, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US including 1-1, groups and classes to prepare for Cambridge, Trinity and Michigan exams.

Specialising in English tutoring

After several years of tutoring students in an after-school program, my teaching journey took a drastic turn with the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic.

For a period of five months, I found myself transitioning all of my usual classes, ranging from KS2 to KS5, to an online format. Additionally, I continued to teach my Saturday students who were learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL).

This new dimension of teaching, the online realm, presented me with a unique opportunity to truly connect with my students. Not only did it allow me to observe their work progress in real-time, but it also made the entire learning experience more interactive.

It was during this period that I made the firm decision that teaching online was the way forward - where I could really tailor my lessons to suit the student's needs.

Qualified British Teacher

In 2005 I completed my PGCE QTS in Secondary English, Media Studies and Drama. I went on to teach ages 11-18 in both UK and Spanish schools, preparing students for their GCSEs and A Levels.

In 2009, I also took on the role of a primary teacher, whilst still teaching secondary students and weekend EFL classes.

I am a British teacher with 26 years of teaching experience in the UK, US, and Europe. I offer online tutoring for EFL/ESOL and GCSE English, literature, maths, science and media studies. I can assist all ages and abilities to improve their knowledge and target areas of weakness or interest.
